We are looking forward to the arrival of our first grandbaby any day now. My older son, Adam, and his wife, Brandi, are expecting their first child after 10 years of marriage. They made the exciting announcement last October at a family dinner that Brandi had prepared for us, her parents Janie and John, our son Travis and his wife Carie, and Brandi's brother, Jeff, and his two little girls, Shelby and Maddie. We were looking forward to a fun family dinner and Brandi's incredible cooking! I wish I could say I remember the menu, because I know it was superb ▬ but I most definitely remember the dessert! When Brandi brought out a beautiful cake, on a covered pedestal, I'll never forget the screams of surprise and delight when she removed the cover to reveal the decorative icing which read "We're Having a Baby!" So now, 6-or-so months later, we are patiently awaiting the arrival of the newest, precious member of our family!
But spring is in the air and, of course, more babies!! A few weeks ago, our younger son Travis and his wife, Carie, announced that they are expecting a little "pumpkin" this Halloween! WOW....what an exciting year 2010 is becoming! Carie is about 12 weeks along now, and after a previous difficult pregnancy, we're so relieved that this pregnancy is going well, and we can't wait to welcome another little one next Fall!! And one more "baby" saga I'll keep you posted on.........
A pair of house finches have built a nest in the wreath on my front door. The mama bird has been busily flying back and forth, sitting on the eggs, and dodging our comings-and-goings. I love observing nature, and even though it makes a mess on my porch, I'll let the nest stay where it is, and patiently await those tiny beaks peeping over the edge of the nest!!
So I'm looking forward to documenting all the new "hatchings" we're expecting and I'll definitely be posting the news!!
